Tis' the Engagement Season

As the holidays rapidly approach the "big question" will be poppin' right along with those celebratory champagne corks.

According to Liene Stevens of Think Splendid "Thanksgiving kicks off engagement season in the United States (the most marriage proposals occur between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day) and many couples will officially start their wedding planning."

We want to hear your story! If you get engaged this upcoming holiday season be sure to share your story with us! Did it go off without a hitch? Was it public or private? Well planned or spontaneous?

However it goes down, we want to know about it!

Real Wedding: Matt and Laura at the City Winery

Major shout out to the Bee's Knees...if you don't already know about them, now you do. You MUST try one of their "cakecups", do it...like yesterday.

Designing the flowers for this wedding was extra special for me because the couple are dear friends of mine. Matt & Laura allowed me to have my freedom while creating the look for their wedding and I happily did just that. We used a simple summer color palette of buttery yellow garden roses, cafe au lait dahlias, subtle hints of green hydrangea and touches of white. The long banquet tables were perfect for the small intimate group in the City Winery's barrel room and I was able to use my favorite linen of the moment. It's a woven linen with a metallic thread running through it, kind of like a fancy rustic feel, perfect for the mix of silver and gold metallic candle holders and vases.

Affordable Art Fair

I was proud to be a small part of the fall Affordable Art Fair a few weeks ago. Keeping with the pink of the logo and incorporating some long lasting fall elements I was happy with the final result.

Real Wedding: Highlands Country Club Wedding, Garrison, New York Carolina and Daniel

I've become such a fan of the Hudson Valley. It has the most beautiful landscape with some unique venues for weddings.

The wedding of Carolina and Daniel was no exception. The ballroom of the Highlands Country Club was perfect, simple, full of light with the most spectacular chandeliers.

Sara of Sara Wight Photography captured every detail beautifully. Be sure to check out the full post.

Inspiration Photo Shoot: City Winery

I've been sitting on this beautiful inspiration shoot for awhile and decided it was time to share. I love the venue, the City Winery, is such a unique place to have a wedding. There is the option of the main space or the barrel room. We created this shoot downstairs in an equally beautiful room perfect for small dinner parties.

The images speak for themselves, a unique and fun twist on a classic New York inspired wedding.

Skyline in Full Bloom at Top of the Garden

Being in the wedding industry you have the chance to see some great venues and meet some pretty amazing vendors. It's one of my favorite parts of the business. I love to see what's new and different, have the chance to meet some new people and catch up with others I haven't seen in awhile!

My friend and fabulous wedding planner Roey of Roey Mizrahi Events put together some of the best of the best for a great night recently and I was so happy to be a part of it.

I worked with both Roey and the Top of the Garden to design something for each of their tables and created a fall inspired entrance piece. Everyone did a beautiful job displaying what they do best and I've included just a few of my favorites here. The photos are all courtesy of the ever amazing Allan Zepeda.

For the entrance piece I used hollowed out tree trunks for the base, pampas grass, hanging amaranthus and white gomphrena. We used additional branches with hanging phaleonopsis orchids.

KreatedByK had these super yummy cookies among other amazing sweets!

Roey and I decided on this fun black and white combo for her table. A playful display using an overturned vase and silhouette paper to cover candles.

The hanging garden we constructed for Top of the Garden's table was my favorite. I love the combination of fern, moss and sedum mat suspended over the table.
